Biography

Jennifer Reid Mahoney has practiced law in Idaho for over twenty-five years. She is admitted to practice before all the courts of Idaho, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jennifer is a native Idahoan, having graduated from Boise High School in 1988. She then obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla, California, where she was a Regent's Scholar. While at UCSD, Jennifer became a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Between college and law school, Jennifer was a program instructor for the Close Up Foundation in Washington D.C. She then returned to Idaho, obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho, College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at the College of law, Jennifer was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Idaho Law Review. She also worked as a tutor at the College of Law, and as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate constitutional law course.

After graduation, Jennifer served as a law clerk to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Larry M. Boyle of the U.S. District Court of Idaho. In 1997, she started work at Ringert Law, practicing primarily in the areas of insurance defense litigation, estate planning, personal injury litigation, liquor licensing and general business. In 2014, she joined Kaufman Reid, PLLC, where her practice continued in those areas. Kaufman Reid, PLLC, ultimately became J. Reid & Associates. During her 25 years of private practice, Jennifer was privileged to work with her father, James G. Reid, until his retirement in June of 2022. Jennifer also worked as an instructor of law and banking for the American Institute of Banking from 1995-2001.

Jennifer has three children and is an avid runner. She enjoys being outside with the family's two dogs and relaxing in McCall.
